Seeking nothing less than enlightenment

Sadhus in Kathmandu - Nepal

What are you doing today? The two Sadhus I met in Kathmandu (Nepal) and their dog probably do the same like yesterday, last week and what they have been doing for the past years: they are pursuing enlightenment. Nothing more, nothing less.

They are obliged to live simple lives with few possessions, simple tastes in food and rejection of family life & social obligation. Some live in ashrams, temples or in very remote locations & caves. Others live lives of perpetual pilgrimage, moving without ceasing from one town, one holy place, to another. And thousands of Sadhus gather during auspicious times as part of the mass pilgrimages of Kumbh Mela in India.

The next Maha Kumbh Mela, which is the holiest of all & the biggest gathering of human kind, will take place in 2013. See you there (at the latest). http://kumbhmela.co.in/mahakumbhmela2013.html
