Cricket − at least every 3rd person on earth knows its rules

No, cricket is not the most popular sport on earth. But almost. Actually only beaten by football (soccer). It’s obviously difficult to come up with accurate estimations, but there are for sure far more than 2 billion people around the globe calling themselves “cricket fans”.

You could call me something like “a fan in spe”, still trying to understand the rules and goals of the game. That’s what I did last weekend in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) watching people mostly from Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan bowling and batting on their day off.

If you are like me, why don’t you start by reading about the greatest cricket players of all times − at least I had never heard any of those names before. Shame on me…
